About The Ram Athletic Fund

The Ram Athletic Fund is the lifeblood of our program. Your gift directly impacts the 260 student-athletes, our coaches and their programs, both on the field and in the classroom.

  • Your $250 gift pays for a new uniform for a student-athlete.
  • Your $1000 gift allows a VCU Coach to go on that extra trip to recruit the student-athlete that every school is after
  • Your $2500 gift allows a VCU team to travel on a luxury bus rather then the standard bus
  • Your $5000 gift pays for room & board for a semester for a student-athlete
  • Your $7500 gift nearly pays for an in-state tuition, fees, room & board for a semester for a student-athlete

As VCU Athletics continue to grow in size and national prominence, the need to enhance budgets and fund scholarships is greater then ever. The Ram Athletic Fund exists to allow this growth and provides the resources to compete for championships.

By becoming a member of the Ram Athletic Fund and our drive to 1,000, you play a vital role in the success of VCU Athletics and its student-athletes. Each year more than 250 student-athletes compete on the fields of play and in the classroom to receive the best collegiate experience and prepare them for the rest of their lives.

Membership is yours with an annual donation to the VCU Ram Athletic Fund. The membership year runs from July 1 through the following June 30.

This initiative will continue to build upon our membership goals while reaching out to young alumni. This new program will be offer to any college grad from 2005 forward.  For those who qualify, they will receive double the membership benefits which results in a great way to earn some priority points and get involved with the Ram Athletic Fund.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I give to the Ram Athletic Fund?

With the cost of in and-out-of state tuition continuing to rise, every gift to the Ram Athletic Fund is important as we strive to build our programs, award aid to our student-athletes, and continue to win championships.

How will my gift to the Rams Athletic Fund be used?

Donations are primarily used to provide scholarship aid to our sixteen varsity sport programs. Gifts are also utilized to support facility improvements and programmatic needs of the VCU Athletic Department.

How do I get good seats for Men’s Basketball games?

RAF members receive priority seating for season tickets, away games, the CAA Tournament, as well as the NCAA Tournament based on their giving level and priority point total. In order to retain your season ticket location each season, you must maintain your giving level. In addition you can improve your seat location by upgrading your giving level and priority point total.  *see Benefits Chart*

Where do I park for Men’s Basketball games being played at the Siegel Center?

Parking privileges are also based on your giving level, the priority point system, and availability.  If you are at the Captain’s Society or Varsity Society level, you are eligible to buy season long parking passes.  If you are at the Director’s Society or higher, you will receive one complimentary parking pass, and the ability to purchase additional parking passes.  Day of game parking is also available for a small fee and is located in the Broad St. parking deck.  *see What’s New?, Hospitality, and Parking Diagram*

How do I join or renew?

Any size donation goes a long way, but to enjoy the benefits of the Ram Athletic Fund, a gift of $100 or more must be donated. Use the pledge card included with this manual, sign up at http://www.givenow.vcu.edu/athletics, or call Justin Jannuzzi at 804-828-2452.  All gifts to the Ram Athletic Fund are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

If I donated $500 in 2009-10 at what benefit level will I be at for the 2010-11 giving year?

You will be treated as a $500 donor and receive the benefits of a Captain’s Society member. *see Benefits Chart*

What are some details of the new and improved Commonwealth Room?

The Commonwealth Room will now be located in the Auxiliary Gym located on the east end of the Siegel Center.  Overall, we plan on providing a very family-friendly atmosphere filled with pre-game events, kids’ activities, and special entertainment.  Think of the Commonwealth Room as a pre-game and halftime tailgating spot.

I donate $5,000 and I am eligible for eight (8) season tickets.  However, I see I only receive two (2) Founder’s Room passes.  How do I receive more passes?

Donors who are eligible for the Founder’s Room may purchase additional passes all based on your season ticket priority.  In this case, the individual may purchase six (6) additional passes as their season ticket priority is up to eight (8) season tickets.  *see What’s New?, Hospitality, and Parking Diagram*

My major concern is not benefits, but where my season tickets are located.  How can I be guaranteed my same season ticket seats?

Simply renew your season tickets and RAF pledge by the designated deadlines.  NO changes have been made in regards to season tickets.

I have never donated to the RAF, but I am very interested.  What do I need to do to receive benefits for the 2010-11 giving year?

You would need to contact one of our Ram Athletic Fund development officers and make a pledge.  Once you pay your pledge in full you will start receiving the benefits for your respective level.  *see Important Contacts page*
